Look It Up
Trim the margins
Looks at the sheet without the blank paper around it, so the drawing fills the screen. Nothing is written to the file.

Why you would use it
A scan of an A3 detail on A1 paper is mostly paper. On a laptop or a tablet that margin is most of the screen, and the drawing is the part you can’t read.
For example
What to do
- View › Trim the margins, for the sheet you’re on.
- Or Trim the margins on every page, for a whole set.
- Show this sheet whole puts the margins back on this page. Show every sheet whole again restores the set.
Going further
A crop is a narrower window onto the same page, not a change to it: page space is untouched, so no measurement moves, no quantity changes and nothing is written to the drawing. On a sheet with vector geometry the content is found exactly from the drawing itself; on a scan it’s read off the ink, ignoring speckle and the scanner’s own edge. A sheet whose drawing already reaches the paper is left alone and says so.
