A viewing room, and reviewers

Take people through something on your screen, with the tools out of their way, and make some of them reviewers who can mark up.

A viewing room is for showing, not for working together. People you invite see your screen as you take them through something, and they can chat, open files, and see who is there and what’s happening. Everything that’s for the people doing the marking is out of their way, so they look at what you are showing and not at the tools.

Start one

  1. When you start a room, turn on A viewing room (a presentation). You can also switch an open room, in the lobby under How people come in.
  2. You begin presenting at once, so whoever joins is on your screen from the first moment. They can step out of it to look around (Go my own way) and come back (Back to the presenter).
  3. Invite people as usual. Everybody who joins is a viewer until you say otherwise.

What a viewer sees and can’t do

A viewer sees the drawing as you show it, with zoom and page movement, Find, and the room's panel: People, Chat, Drawings and files and Activity. The tool rail, the Pages and Properties panels, the options bar, the register, the File and View menus, the Take-off screen, and undo, save and export are all hidden. Picking a tool by key is declined, with a message that says why. Their marks, if they somehow made any, aren’t applied by anyone in the room.

Make somebody a reviewer

In the lobby, People, press the ⋯ on a person and choose Make reviewer. They get the tools back, and can mark up and comment while everybody else keeps watching; Remove as reviewer puts them back. A reviewer is told, and so is somebody you take it from.

Turn it back into a working room

Switch A viewing room off, and everybody can mark up again, as in any other room. People are told.

Keep going

Try it on a real drawing
