Keep your tools in the Toolbox
Save a look, a mark, a way of measuring or some words once, and use it again in a click, from any set, on any drawing.
Most people draw the same few things again and again. The Toolbox keeps them: pick one and it’s the same every time, however many people draw it.
- A look
- Draw the next one in this colour, weight and pattern. Only the look is applied, so one Query cloud look makes every cloud you draw the same pink.
- A mark
- A mark as you saved it: its shape, look and words. It follows the pointer; click to put it down.
- A way of measuring
- How something is measured (a length, an area or a count, with its allowances and reference), kept as a recipe. Pick it and it starts measuring into its own group for this job. No measurement is ever saved with it.
- Words
- A note you write again and again. They’re put in the next note's box, ready to keep or type over.
Using it
- Open View › Toolbox (or press Ctrl+Shift+B).
- Pick a set, or type to search every set at once. Recent and Favourites are always the first two.
- Click a tool. In a narrow panel the first nine can also be picked with the keys 1 to 9.
- To keep something, select it and choose Add…, or right-click it and choose Add to the Toolbox….
Right-click a tool to rename it, star it, move it to another set or remove it. Removing it from the Toolbox changes nothing on any drawing.
Sets, sharing and starting points
- Make a set for each trade, phase or job: Review, Roof take-off, Site notes. The + beside the sets makes a new one.
- Export saves the sets as one plain file you can read, back up or send to a colleague. Import adds the sets in a file and changes nothing you already have.
- The three starter sets are only examples. More › Put the starter sets back brings back any that are missing and never replaces what you made.
