Take the tour, or learn a tool by doing it

A one-minute look round the screen, and short walk-throughs that show a tool and let you try it on a practice sheet.

Two ways to learn DatoMark by using it, both here in Help & Learn and both in the command palette.

The tour

A one-minute look round the screen: the drawing, the tools, the style bar, the panel with the pages and properties, Drawing and Take-off, the Dato Room and this Help button. The screen is dimmed except for the place being talked about. It’s offered once, the first time DatoMark opens; take it again whenever you like.

In DatoMark Take the tour

Walk me through a tool

A walk-through points at the tool and says what its shortcut is right now (whatever you have set it to), does the job once so you can see the movement, then hands over and waits for you to do it. It’s all done on a practice sheet in a tab of its own (the sample roof plan, or for the Site signs one a small sample site plan): none of your own drawings is touched, and the practice marks can be cleared at the end.

The longest one is about the Site kit: it picks and places signs on a site plan, opens the register that lists them with their checks, and puts a legend on the sheet that builds itself.
