Show the sheet dark (the dark sheet)

The white paper shown dark and the black lines light, as in the dark views of AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam: only how it looks on your screen.

The white paper goes dark and the black lines and text go light, with colours kept (red stays red, a blue hatch stays blue). It stays on for every drawing and every sitting until you turn it off.

  1. Open the View menu and choose Show the sheet dark (or turn on Dark sheet in Settings, Appearance).
  2. Pick a tone in Settings if you want it deeper or softer.
  3. Choose Show the sheet in light in the same menu to go back.

It’s only how it looks

Nothing is changed in the file. Exports, prints, measurements and counts by picture see the sheet exactly as it is; only this screen shows it dark. (Bluebeam's dark mode works the same way, and prints on white.)

Your marks

Marks are shown in colours that read on a dark sheet: black ink is shown white, a dark blue a lighter blue, a colour that already reads is left alone. A highlighter becomes a dark tint, so the words under it stay light. What is stored and exported is the colour you chose: only the display is adapted. The navigation map, the page strip and the magnifier follow.

Two tones

Charcoal (the usual) is a soft dark grey with softer lines; Black is the deepest. Page brightness and contrast still apply on top.
