A count is one too many, or some are missing
The usual reasons, and how to see which marks are which.
One too many
- A legend or key. It shows one of each symbol, so a sheet with a legend counts one extra. Untick that sheet, or use Leave out an area… round the legend.
- A title block or logo that happens to look like the symbol. Same fix.
- The example itself was the legend one. Point at one on a plan instead.
Some missing
- A different size. A symbol drawn at another size counts as another product, so it isn’t matched. If it’s the same thing at a different scale, count it separately.
- Slightly different drawing. Choose Very close or Roughly under How alike and check what appears.
- Turned. Make sure Count it turned round too is ticked.
- A sheet that couldn’t be looked at. The window names it: a scan, or one too busy to compare. Count those another way.
- Joined to other lines. On a vector drawing, a symbol that’s joined into a wall may look like a bigger shape. Count it by hand, or use a scan-style box.
Seeing which is which
Counts you made are ordinary counts. Select one and each mark is shown; delete the wrong ones, or add the missing ones with the Count tool (C) into the same group. The count's record shows how many were found, how many you ticked off and how it was matched.
