Look It Up
Fill an area
Point at a roof plane, a bay or a room, and its area is taken from the lines already on the drawing instead of you tracing every corner.

Why you would use it
Tracing a plane corner by corner is the slowest part of a take-off and the easiest to get slightly wrong — a corner put down two points out is invisible on screen and still in the bill. The sheet already knows exactly where its lines are.

What to do
- Pick the tool and move over the drawing.
- The shape under the cursor is outlined and named.
- Click to measure it — if the outline is wrong, nothing has been measured.
Going further
It follows the drawing's REAL lines rather than filling in pixels, so the corners are exact at any zoom and it can’t leak out through a gap and quietly hand back half the sheet. Where the lines don’t quite meet it will close a break up to the width set in Settings, and it tells you when it did and how wide the break was. Wider than that and it refuses, showing the loose ends in red rather than guessing. Scanned drawings have no lines to read, so trace those by hand.
