Look It Up
Pages across
Show two sheets side by side, as a spread: a plan beside its section, a detail beside the sheet it’s cut from.

Why you would use it
Checking one sheet against another is most of reading a set, and flicking between them loses the place. Side by side, the eye can go from one to the other.
For example
What to do
- Choose Pages across from View, or the finder.
- Choose it again to step through one page, two pages, and two pages with the first one alone.
- Zoom and fit treat the pair as one picture.
Going further
A spread is only a way of looking. Each page keeps its own scale, calibration and marks, so what you measure on one sheet is the same whether it is shown alone or beside another, and nothing is written to the file. Pairs are made from the order the sheets are shown in, so a rearranged set pairs up as it now reads. It’s remembered with the project.
