Why you would use it
The same thing as signing a printed sheet with a pen: it records that you put your name to this drawing.
For example
What to do
- Pick the signature tool.
- Draw your signature in the box the first time.
- Click on the drawing to place it.
Going further
It’s A HANDWRITTEN MARK, NOT A VERIFIED ONE. It proves nothing about who drew it, nobody can check it, and it won’t notice if the drawing is altered afterwards — exactly like ink on paper. Anything that has to be PROVEN needs a certificate-backed signature, which this isn’t. An optional logo (Settings, Tools, Signatures) can sit to the left of the handwriting; it’s only a picture and doesn’t show who signed. It’s kept on this device only and never sent anywhere; the strokes travel inside the drawing itself, so a project you send on still shows what was signed. What’s stored is the SHAPE rather than the size, so it doesn’t matter how big you drew it, and it’s placed in points on the sheet so every signature in a set prints the same size.
If you already use another program
In a PDF markup program: Adding a signature: a picture of your handwriting placed on the sheet. It isn’t a certificate-based digital signature, and says so.
