Comments

Everything said about this drawing, and what’s still open. A comment can be about the whole drawing, about a page, or pinned to a detail you have selected.

Why you would use it

A drawing review is a conversation, and the part people lose isn’t the marks on the sheet but what was meant by them and whether anybody answered.

What to do

1. Open Comments from the File menu.
2. Select something on the drawing to pin the comment to it, or tick About the whole drawing.
3. Type and press Add comment. Ctrl and Enter does the same.
4. Show me takes you to what a comment is about.

Going further

A comment isn’t markup and not a measurement: it has no geometry of its own and no quantity, so it can never reach a take-off or a bill. It points at places instead, and the same place can be cited by several comments. Comments are saved with your project and come back with it.
